The Mobile County Branch NAACP #5044 wishes a Happy Founders Day to its parent organization.
We refer to it as “The nation’s Largest and the Oldest, the Baddest and the Boldest, the most Feared and the most Revered, the most Cussed and Discussed Civil Rights Organization in the land — The NAACP.”
For 2016, our annual Founders Day celebration will be 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 14th, at St. John’s Deliverance Temple, located on 2621 Ralston Road. President Ronald Ali will deliver his an address on “The State of Mobile.”
Our special honorees are long-time NAACP and voter-registration advocate Peter Reese, and Alabama State Reps. Adline Clarke and Barbara Drummond. They will receive the Leo & Hazel Fournier Award.
