The Mobile County Alabama Branch #5044 of the NAACP held a Press Conference to emphasize the urgency of gun violence on National Gun Violence Awareness Weekend. Participants wore “orange” to honor both the tens of thousands lives lost and for the survivors of gun violence.
The goals are to create heightened awareness and a greater sense of urgency of the gun violence epidemic, and to call on lawmakers locally and nationally to initiate effective gun violence laws to decrease, eliminate and eradicate the senseless and unlawful daily crimes facilitated by gun violence.
The press conference was held 11 a.m. Friday, June 2, 2023, at Government Plaza in downtown Mobile, AL.
