Our Struggle Continues ...

We crossed many bridges to reach our goal for a just and racially equitable society; we won't turn back.

Members of the Mobile County NAACP played a crucial role in the Alabama lawsuit, Allen v. Milligan . On June 8, 2023, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in favor of the plantiffs and ordered the State of Alabama to redraw its congressional district lines to better reflect Alabama's racial diversity.

Speaking Truth to Power

No more sitting down; we must stand up and speak up to hold our leaders accountable.

In addition to filing lawsuits, the Mobile NAACP is pressing for the fair distribution of American Rescue Plan monies and other local/state funds that are supposed to be spent in under-served communities to assist in their post-COVID-19 recovery efforts.

Advancing Justice for ALL

Everyone committed to advancing a fair society for all is welcomed to join us.

The Mobile NAACP plays active roles in partnerships of many types - from voting rights to fair housing to environmental and criminal justice, and more - to expand our reach into all communities that are concerned about inclusion, diversity, equity and fair opportunities, regardless of race or ethnicity.

For Future Generations

Education is a top priority for a racially just and equitable society.

We live in a society where some seem afraid to tell its children the truth about past historic injustices that are behind present-day disparities. The Mobile NAACP is doing its part to support education that helps young people learn from history so they can make better decisions for their future.
